USPHL Reign add Andrew O'Brien to the coaching staff

by Tomas Kapusta

Originally from Toronto, Canada Andrews's love for the game has taken him around the world.

After being drafted in the 4th round by the Anaheim Ducks in 2012 Andrew spent 6 years playing in North America with various organizations including the Anaheim Ducks, Nashville Predators, Dallas Stars and Calgary Flames where he was fortunate enough to play under coaches such as Dallas Eakins (HC Anaheim Ducks) Dean Evason (HC Minnesota Wild) and Trent Yawney (AC LA Kings).

Following his playing career in North America, Andrew most recently spent time overseas playing in the KHL, SHL, Liiga, Germany, and Austria.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Jr Reign and express my passion for the game in a different way. I’ve been fortunate enough to play under some incredible coaches so I’m looking to take what I’ve learned and help the next generation of players get to the next level.”

Head Coach and General Manager Jeremy Blumes comments “A massive addition for our program, not only does Andrew have experience at the professional level, he has demonstrated a passion for teaching the game to younger players, which is a skill in itself. All of us are going to benefit from Andrew being a part of our club.”

Andrew will be running various skates and private skills sessions in the area throughout the summer. Feel free to get in contact with him: obrienandrew92@outlook.com
