Trnka Named Best Pacific Division Goalie for November
Ontario Jr Reign goaltender Matus Trnka was recently named to the USPHL Premier Pacific Division Players Of The Month award list for the month of November. He was unbeaten in regulation this month with a 3-0-0-1 record thanks to his 146 saves and 1.79 GAA.
Trnka had an outstanding month no matter how you slice it. An unbeaten record is impressive on its own, but when you consider that he made a start against the hottest team in the league not named the Ontario Jr Reign, it looks a lot better. In his Nov. 26 start, he stifled a Fresno Monsters’ offense that has been red hot all season. Trnka held an offense that normally scores seven goals per game to a season-low two goals in regulation.
He also picked up a 25-save shutout on Nov. 11 against the Lake Tahoe Lakers, his second shutout against the Lakers this season. Trnka followed it up the next day with a 35-save, one-goal-allowed performance, again against the Lakers.
