Tomas Kapusta introduced youth hockey to the Rams in the USA
A meeting with Tomáš Kapusta took place at the Luďek Čajka Winter Stadium on Sunday. Former Ontario Jr. hockey player and now general manager of overseas teams. Reign and San Diego Sabers first led youth training on the ice, then presented the operation of youth hockey in California at the stadium's press center.
Zlín's offspring Tomáš Kapusta has had a successful playing career and is now involved in youth hockey and talent training overseas. Sunday's event took place thanks to the long-term cooperation of Aries with the clubs of Ontario Jr. Reign to San Diego Sabers.
Kapusta not only passed on some of his experience on the ice to young hockey players from Zlín and the surrounding area but mainly introduced them to the functioning of hockey in California and the possibility of going overseas to an experienced one. One of the visions of Zlín youth hockey is to offer players various opportunities for personal and sports development, such an opportunity may be working in a partner club.
"This is the first time in history that the Zlín club I come from allowed me to do training with young people and the whole such official presentation. The players came and the parents came, so I'm satisfied. It was great, " says Kapusta.
On the ice, the overseas general manager was assisted by Zlín coaches Lubomír Konečný, Ondřej Veselý and Petr Čajánek. Twenty-five players and five goalkeepers from Zlín and surrounding clubs took part in the training, the Rams invited people from all over the Zlín Region to the event. Several parents also arrived for the subsequent presentation and there was also room for questions.
In the past, as part of Czech-American cooperation, young Rams have traveled several times across the ocean on a sightseeing tour and friendly matches, as well as hockey players from the United States and their families, traveled to Europe. The clubs intend to continue in similar activities and in deepening the partnership.
"In the United States, I helped Zlín organize matches against the American team and, conversely, Zlín helped me arrange matches here several times. So mutual cooperation and a friendly atmosphere between clubs is already traditional, " adds Kapusta.
