by Adrian Preciado

When: Friday, September 30, 2022

Where: South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena

Watch: HockeyTV.com

Team Records:

  • Ontario Jr. Reign: 2-0-0

  • Lake Tahoe Lakers: 0-3-0

Reign Notes:

The Reign is coming off of two dominant wins that started their season including a 9-3 win at home last Saturday. The team has eight different players who scored a goal in their first two games and an additional seven players with at least one point. They look to continue their hot streak of scoring against a Lakers team that has allowed a combined 27 goals in their first three games. The Reign is prepared and ready to make a statement this weekend.

Lakers Notes:

The Lakers began their season with a disappointing 0-3 start but are entering this series with the Reign hungry for a win. It will not be an easy task as the Reign is coming in hot after a 2-0 start against the Long Beach Shredders but at home ice, the Lakers are ready to attempt to cool off the Reigns' blazing start.

Who To Watch:

For the Reign, Ethan McKibbin and Jacob Pelletier are the two players to watch for as they both began the season with lightning starts. McKibbin has 2 goals and 4 assists with an average of 3 points per game against the Long Beach Shredders and does not want to get comfortable. Pelletier leads the team with 3 goals and 2 assists and looks to increase his great start of 2.5 points per game even further.

For the Lakers, Jacob Nordorf and Brendan Johnson are the two players to watch for. Nordorf currently leads the team with 2 goals in only two games against the Las Vegas Thunderbirds last weekend and looks to extend his average of one goal per game. Johnson has 1 goal and 2 assists in his first three games of the young season.
