The red-hot Jr. Reign enter this weekend off a dominant three-game win streak with a combined goal differential of plus 11 as they welcome another 11-2-0 team in the San Diego Sabers for what’s sure to be an exciting rivalry matchup in The Battle of Interstate 15. The Jr. Reign have yet to score under 4 goals in a single game all year which shows the phenomenal play from this team. They currently hold the tiebreaker for second place however they are looking for the top spot and the opportunity is here in this great matchup which can be very meaningful down the road.
Sabers Notes:
The Sabers travel North for a huge game in which they also look to take the number two spot in the Pacific. They have been electric on their current four-game win streak as they have won with a total differential of plus 24 in the last 4 games. It is going to be exciting to see how they face off against another hungry and hot team in the Jr. Reign.
Who To Watch:
For the Reign, Ethan McKibbin and Max Kathol are the two players once again to watch for. McKibbin is on a mission this year and currently has the 11th-highest points in the USPHL with 17 goals and 14 assists totaling 31 points. Kathol isn't far behind ranking 25th with 7 goals and 19 assists totaling 26 points. These two have been causing havoc all season and look to continue their 3-game-win streak this weekend.
For the Sabers, Michal Novak and Lucas Lundy are the two players to watch for. Novak leads the team with 11 goals and 9 assists totaling 20 points while averaging 1.54 points per game. Lundy follows closely behind with 2 goals and 15 assists for a total of 17 points averaging 1.42 points per game. These two are not to be taken lightly as they have led this team through a dominant 4-game-win streak.
