The Ontario Jr Reign are proud to announce we have added another lethal weapon to our forward ranks; Skylar Olson hailing from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada joins the club for the Reign’s second season in the USPHL

“I chose the Ontario Jr. Reign because Jeremy Blumes has an outstanding coaching resume,” said Skylar Olson. “I believe playing under the experience Coach Blumes possesses and the level of talent he has coached in the past will be a great chance for me to develop not only as a hockey player but as an individual off the ice as well. I’m looking forward to playing hockey while soaking up that California sunshine and meeting my soon-to-be teammates as we prepare for what will be my second year in the USPHL.”

Olson spent last season playing for the Carrot River Outback Thunder in the PJHL where he competed in 28 games collecting 10 goals and 13 assists, that same season he played with the Winnipeg Freeze in the MJHL. Olson is a two-year major midget veteran of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA league. In his final season of midget hockey Olson's team the Tisdale Trojans captured the provincial league title and competed in Canada’s National Championship tournament the Telus Cup, capturing a bronze medal.

Head Coach and General Manager Jeremy Blumes remarked “Olson is an extremely creative player that will make his teammates around him better. He will be a catalyst for us in all three zones and particularly dangerous off of the half wall on our powerplay.”

The Ontario Jr Reign would like to welcome Skylar and the Olson family to Ontario.

The Ontario Jr Reign have announced their upcoming USPHL Prep Camp on the weekend of August 13-14, 2022 in Ontario, California at Center Ice Arena.
