Ontario Jr Reign Acquire Ryder Wastesicoot from the Brooklyn Aviators

by Callum Kemlo

The Ontario Jr Reign are pleased to announce the acquisition of 2006-born defenseman Ryder Wastesicoot from the  Brooklyn Aviators in exchange for Jace Bodnar.

“Ryder is a mobile, physical, 2 way right shot D, he has demonstrated an ability to join the rush without sacrificing his defensive responsibilities.” said OJR Head Coach, General Manager Jeremy Blumes, “As an 06 we think that he has the potential to develop into the type of player that will play at a higher level down the road, which is our organization's objective.”

Wastesicoot, a product of Thompson, Manitoba, stands 5'11" and tips the scales at 174 pounds. Last season with the Mackenzie Mountaineers, Wastesicoot scored 1 goal, added 3 assists in 6 games. In 7 games this year with Brooklyn, Wastesicoot has averaged 16:46 minutes in ice-time, with over 3 minutes coming on the penalty kill.

“We would like to thank Jace for his time with our club and wish him well in Brooklyn” stated Blumes.

The Ontario Jr Reign warmly welcomes Ryder and the entire Wastesicoot family into the organization.
