OJR Travel to Long Beach and Bakersfield

by Sebastian Abdon Ibarra

The Ontario Jr Reign are headed down the home stretch as the playoffs quickly approach.

The Jr Reign (31-8-0-1 are continuing their road trip this week with one game against the Long Beach Shredders (6-32-0-0) and one more against the Bakersfield Roughnecks (23-14-2-1).

Ontario has a good track record against both the Shredders and Roughnecks this season, with a combined 10-1 record. The Shredders especially have a hard time when they face Ontario, as they have lost six straight to the Jr Reign.

This season against Long Beach, the OJR have scored 46 goals and only surrendered seven goals. This includes an 11-1 drubbing of the Shredders in December of last year. Eight different Jr Reign players would score in the game, and 16 out of the 19 non-goalies on the game sheet recorded at least one point.

The Jr Reign started off the season series against the Roughnecks with a close 2-1 defeat, but have gone on to win the next four meetings. This game will be the final time these two teams meet this season.

These two teams seem to bring out the best in each other whenever they have played this season. Excluding a 6-1 OJR victory, each game has been extremely competitive, with neither team winning by more than two goals.

Keep an eye out for Eamon Julian this week, the Jr Reign Captain has scored a goal in four straight contests. Also, it is worth keeping an eye on the goals leaderboard as Kaedin Larocque-Wolfe continues to hang on to that second-place spot with his 42 goals. A good final month of the season should help him hang on in the standings.
