OJR Announces Reed Kinsey as 2024-2025 Goalie Coach

The Ontario Jr. Reign are excited to announce the addition of Reed Kinsey to their coaching staff as the organization’s new goalie coach for the upcoming 2025 USPHL season. With a deep background in goaltending development and over a decade of experience working with netminders at various competitive levels, Kinsey is expected to bring a new level of structure and intensity to the team’s goaltending program.

Kinsey is the owner of RK Goalies, a goaltending development brand dedicated to providing elite-level instruction and mentorship for goaltenders across Southern California and beyond. With more than 12 years of coaching experience, he has worked with hundreds of goalies ranging from youth hockey to junior and high school levels. Kinsey’s current roles also include coaching with Project Hockey, where he contributes to one of the leading online hockey development platforms, and serving as a goaltending coach for numerous local programs, including Fairmont Prep High School, a team Kinsey helped lead to the USA Hockey High School National Championship in the 2024-25 season.

In addition to his coaching duties, Kinsey is a trusted evaluator at the CAHA Select Camp, where he helps identify and assess top goaltending prospects for advancement within USA Hockey’s development pipeline. His expertise and eye for talent make him a valuable asset not only for the Ontario Jr. Reign but for the broader hockey community in California.

Kinsey expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity:

"I'm excited to join Coach Jeremy and work with the goaltenders of the Ontario Jr. Reign in the USPHL. My goal is to elevate each goalie’s performance in the crease—helping them not only win games and pursue another championship, but also prepare for opportunities at the next level. Goaltenders will be held to high standards each week through structured on- and off-ice training, video analysis of practices and games, and a team-first environment where everyone shares a championship mindset."

The Jr. Reign, members of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL), have built a reputation for developing young talent and competing at a high level. The hiring of Kinsey is another step in reinforcing that commitment to excellence and player development, especially in one of the game’s most specialized and demanding positions.

As the 2025 season approaches, fans can expect to see a more refined and resilient group of goaltenders between the pipes—thanks in large part to Kinsey’s leadership and hands-on approach.
