OJR and San Diego Sabers Showcase Junior Hockey at Ice in Paradise in Goleta, California.

by Cesar Rivas

Mark your calendars Saturday, October 12th, 8:30 PM the Ontario Jr. Reign and San Diego Sabers travel to what is affectionately referred to as the American Riviera for a showcase game at Ice in Paradise in Goleta, California located just 15 minutes from Santa Barbara.

Joining the defending pacific division champions is Santa Barbara's very own Teleios Zermeno.  Affectionately referred to as “Big Z”. Zermeno spent three years in the Los Angeles Kings high school league under the Santa Barbara Royals banner guided by NHL veteran and Royals head coach Steve Heinze. The hometown hero was a multisport athlete in highschool excelling both in the classroom and indoor volleyball, beach volleyball and track and field. This earned Big Z the distinction of Providence School’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.

“I’m thrilled to return to the rink that started it all for me, and excited to show that my hometown IS a hockey town,” Zermeno said. “Join us Saturday as Santa Barbara boards the Reign Train!”

The juniors game follows the home opener for the 530 PM game time of ACHA rivals Cal State fullerton and the home squad of University of California, Santa Barbara Gauchos - so it will be a  great night for Hockey fans with an ACHA game followed by a USPHL game later that same evening.

Board the Reign Train, support Zermeno and the rest of the OJR squad!
