Position: Assistant Coach
Level: Junior A – USPHL

The Ontario Jr Reign is seeking a dedicated Assistant Coach to work under the guidance of the Head Coach & General Manager. This role is ideal for a motivated individual passionate about player development, strategy, and recruitment.

Key Responsibilities

Player Development
  • Assist in planning and leading on-ice practice sessions, including skill development.
  • Implement individual and team strategies to enhance performance.
  • Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to players.
  • Oversee team workouts and conditioning programs.
Game Planning
  • Support the development of game strategies.
  • Break down and edit game video for analysis.
  • Analyze opponents’ strengths and weaknesses.
  • Assist with scouting reports and tactical planning.
Recruiting
  • Contribute to scouting and recruiting efforts to strengthen the team roster.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in hockey as a player, coach, or evaluator.
  • Passion for developing and mentoring young athletes.
  • Ability to collaborate with fellow coaching staff.
  • Strong communication skills for both players and parents.
  • Availability to meet team schedule requirements.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the USA.

Time Commitment

  • Weekday Practices: 10:30 AM at Ontario Center Ice Arena.
  • Games: Weekends (home and away).
