JEREMY BLUMES NAMED USPHL PACIFIC DIVISION COACH OF THE YEAR

Hired in late July 2021 to build the OJR expansion franchise, Blumes assembled a roster in just six weeks before the season began. That first team battled its way into the playoffs on the final night of the regular season, establishing the standard that has driven the program’s success ever since.

Since the inaugural season under Blumes guidance, the OJR have compiled an impressive 137-39-6 record, appeared in three consecutive Pacific Division Finals, captured two Pacific Division Championships, and advanced to Nationals twice. During that span, more than 40 players have moved on to higher levels of junior, college, and professional hockey, helping pave the way for the organization’s elevation to the NCDC for the 2026–27 season.

Beyond the success on the ice, the Reign have become deeply embedded in the Inland Empire community. Players regularly volunteer their time and support local organizations, including Road Hockey Rulez, the American Cancer Society, animal rescue groups, and numerous other community initiatives. The organization remains committed to developing not only successful hockey players, but also responsible young men who make a positive impact in the communities they serve.

“It’s an honour to be recognized with this award,” said Blumes. “My dad always told me to surround myself with good people, and this season I paid close attention to that advice. I’ve never had a better staff;  Eric, Kevin, Mike, Reed, Tony, Dillon, Jenna, Amanda, along with all of our players and support staff that bought into what we were building.

They say it takes a village, and we have an amazing village. This truly is a team award.”
