OJR Internship and Volunteer Program

AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Scouting & Recruiting

•Attend games + review footage to identify emerging talent 

•Analyze player statistics & maintain detailed scouting reports 

•Support building a database of prospective players for the team

Video & Analytics

•Record and edit game footage to provide performance insights 

•Create highlight reels + maintain the video library 

•Collaborate with coaching staff to analyze trends and game prep

Play-by-Play Announcer

•Deliver live game commentary and describe the on-ice action 

•Research team + player stats ahead of time to bring insight during the broadcast

Broadcast Assistant

•Prepare gameday scripts, set up audio/video hardware

•Operate cameras and assist with live broadcast execution during games 

Time Keeper

•Record accurate game scores, assists, penalties and maintain official scoresheet 

•Operate game clock, track periods/intermissions/stoppages

Public Address Announcer

•Announce goals, penalties, player intros & key game events to energize the crowd 

•Assist in scripting announcements + promote upcoming games/events

DJ

•Create game-day atmosphere: select and play music, energize the crowd 

•Manage audio equipment and coordinate with event staff on timing and fan engagement 

Graphic Designer

•Design visually engaging content: social graphics, posters and merchandise

•Collaborate across departments to support campaigns and events

Copywriter

•Write compelling content for social media, website, emails and marketing materials 

•Assist with press releases, game recaps and promotional copy for ads/newsletters 

Community Ambassador

•Build relationships with local orgs, schools and businesses to promote the team 

•Plan community events, player appearances & charitable activities •Collaborate on group sales initiatives to attract large groups

Sales Team

•Research potential sponsors, prepare proposals and carry out outreach efforts 

•Help design marketing campaigns (social, email), analyze sales data for trends

•Manage sponsor relationships to ensure agreements are fulfilled

Group Sales

•Identify groups (schools/businesses/community orgs) to sell bulk tickets 

•Create promotional materials, conduct outreach (phone/email/in-person) 

•Manage bookings and coordinate special events/experiences for groups

Promotional/Street Team

•Coordinate promotional activities, giveaways and special events to engage fans 

•Boost retention and the overall fan experience through grassroots efforts

Photographer

•Capture high-quality photos during games and team events 

•Edit photos for use in marketing materials, on social media and the website

Social Media Team

•Implement content strategies across social platforms 

•Analyze engagement data, identify digital trends, plan campaigns to build online community
