Guardian of the Goal Julian “Bones” Arenal Returns to the Reign

by Callum Kemlo

The Ontario Jr Reign are pleased to announce the return of Inland Empire local living legend goaltender Julian Arenal for the 2023-2024 season.

The 20 year old product of La Verne, California played 10 games for the Jr Reign last season, with a record of 8 wins and 2 losses. Across those games, Julian boasted a .886 save percentage and a 3.14 goals against average. When he was asked about his return, Julian said “I'm very excited to be back for a couple of reasons. I'm excited to be returning to my hometown team with some returning teammates, and under a coach I have a lot of respect for.” Julian then described his goals for the season, saying “My goals for this upcoming season are the same goals I've always had, to become a better player, to be a good teammate, and to take advantage of the opportunity to play the game I love. My hope for the team is always to achieve the championship title,  and the same as last season. Brotherhood, camaraderie, and the chance for the team to better their skills to advance in hockey however they want.”

“We are thrilled to bring Bones back for another season," said Coach and GM Blumes. “He possesses a great work ethic, doesn’t take anything for granted. Like all of our returning players he improved by leaps and bounds last season and we expect that hard work to pay dividends for us going into this season.  I consider Bones to be a true glue guy as he demonstrates our 3 rules on a daily basis.”

Welcome back Bones and the entire Arenal family, we look forward to another successful season in the inland empire with you.
