Forward Max Kathol signs with Reign for 2022-23 season

by Tomas Kapusta

The Ontario Jr Reign is proud to announce the signing of 2002 Forward Max Kathol. Kathol, a native of Chestermere, Alberta, split time last season between the Kindersley Klippers of the SJHL and the Columbia Valley Rockies of the KIJHL.

“I am excited for the opportunity to play with the Reign,” said Max Kathol. “I look forward to being part of helping build a strong team culture in Ontario.”

Head Coach and General Manager Jeremy Blumes commented "Kathol is a relentless, physical 200 ft player that will fit very well into our team concept. Given Max’s strong character, intangibles, and experience we expect Max to be an integral part of our team. Max was a prospect at a camp of mine 5 seasons ago and I am thrilled that after all those years I have the opportunity to coach this fine young man his 20-year-old season.”

Blumes continued "Following his final year of junior with us Max has expressed an interest in seeking a post-secondary opportunity along with a quality hockey program so playing with the Reign and within the USPHL made sense given those objectives.”
