by Callum Kemlo

The Ontario Jr Reign are pleased to announce that Milpitas born forward Chris Lai (#95) has joined the team for the 2023-2024 season. The past two seasons Lai played for the San Jose Jr. Sharks 18U AAA, where he cemented himself as a top forward and a must-watch talent. Born June 14, 2004 Chris has spent his entire hockey career playing in California, beginning his club career with the Santa Clara Blackhawks 16U AA.

Chris joins the Jr Reign as a versatile forward, able to play all three positions. Weighing in at 5’11”, and 165 lbs. Lai is known for his willingness to skate through a wall for his teammates, describing himself as “a hard working grinder that loves the physical aspect of the game. I love making others around me better.”  Chris continued, “It feels great to be around a group of guys that all have the same mindset and same work ethic. We’re always looking to get better, take the game to the next level, and win some hockey games.”

Coach and GM Blumes "Chris has a terrific motor and strong skill set, he comes to us from a great AAA program north of us in San Jose, and we expect Chris to use all those assets to be an impact player”.

Welcome to the Ontario Jr. Reign Chris and the entire Lai family!
