Bolstered Backend as Los Angeles local #63 Andrew Cervantes signs with USPHL Reign

by Tomas Kapusta

For his final season of junior hockey, Los Angeles native Andrew Cervantes has re-signed with the Ontario Jr Reign. Last season Andrew made an immediate impact scoring his first goal while wearing the iconic silver and black jersey in his Reign debut. An imposing 6’5 defenseman, he would continue to score, and during the team's first season, Andrew's passion for the game, tenacity, and heart helped his team to their first-ever playoff trip.

“I'm thrilled and privileged to return to the Reign to carry on following our first year's journey,” said Andrew Cervantes. “We built a solid foundation last year, and now it's time to expand.”

Head Coach and General Manager Jeremy Blumes commented “Cerv’s love for the game is infectious. Like a lot of California kids, he started playing roller before playing on ice, his first season of organized ice hockey wasn’t until 16. His progress is astonishing and a testament to his love for the game. Cerv has come a long way in a short amount of time, we are thrilled to see him continue that remarkable growth this season. Cerv has a number of responsibilities and I see him manage them all with a great deal of care. I truly respect Andrew and the direction the young man is headed, it’s so important to have quality people like Andrew to create our team first culture.”

Friday, September 23rd, and Saturday, September 24th mark the Home Opening weekend for your Ontario Jr. Reign playing out of Ontario Center Ice Arena.
