Australian Ace Down Under: Noah Maley joins OJR

by Callum Kemlo

The Ontario Jr Reign are pleased to announce the signing of forward Noah Maley for the 2023-2024 season. A native of Adelaide, Australia, the 20 year old forward joins the Jr Reign after spending the entire bulk of his junior career at home in Australia. Noah spent last season with his hometown Adelaide Adrenaline of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL), the highest level of professional hockey in Australia.  Along with his time in the AIHL, Noah spent 7 games playing in Australian Junior Ice Hockey League with the Adelaide Generals, where as the team captain he scored 4 goals and 5 assists. Not a stranger to international hockey, Noah has played 12 games for the Australia U20 team, adding 2 goals and 1 assist to his resume.

When asked about his exciting transition to hockey in America, the 5’9” 160 pound Noah had this to say, “I can’t wait to experience junior hockey in America. It's going to be an awesome opportunity and experience. I really want to make the most of the ice time and coaching it’s something that’s not as easily available in Australia. Getting on the ice everyday and meeting all the boys is gonna be an awesome experience and I can’t wait to bring back a championship.”

Noah describes himself as someone who “plays with heart and will never give up on the play, a two way center that plays with speed. I’ve got a focus on penalty kill and faceoffs.”

Head Coach and GM Blumes had this to say about Noah joining the team, “Kid has a great motor and is already loved by his teammates, I think that he is going to inspire with his tenacity and hustle.”

Welcome to the Ontario Jr. Reign Noah and the entire Maley family!
