Areneal shuts the door and Larocque-Wolfe Lead OJR Past Shredders in convincing fashion

Friday night was all Ontario as the Jr Reign charged past the Long Beach Shredders with a dominant 10-0 win, including a great showing from the teams pewerplay with 4 out of the 10 goals being scored with the man-advantage. Kaedin Larocque-Wolfe or  “Kaedo” led the charge, scoring twice while also adding 3 assists for 4 points. Not to be outdone, Nicholas Fiolleau continued his hot streak, scoring twice along with assisting on Kaedo’s first goal of the game. Center Rhys Doyle and D-Man Cooper Kantola both scored once while adding 3 assists a piece.

Freshly minted Captain, Eamon Julian, opened the scoring 6 minutes and 32 seconds into the first period, with the Jr Reign scoring goals every 4 minutes after the first, leading them to a commanding 4-0 lead heading into the second period. Following the first, the Jr Reign scored 3 goals in the last 10 minutes to raise their lead 7-0, while chipping in another three-piece in the 3rd to round out their dominant performance. 

Ontario Jr Reign veteran Julian Arenal stopped all 19 shots he faced, while the Jr Reign worked two goalies into the massacre with equal results. Shredders starter Aidan Patterson 50 out of the 56 shots he faced in the first and second period, while backup Hunter Krell stopped 22 out of the 26 shots he saw in the third. In total, the Jr Reign led the way with 82 shots. 

Following the win, Head Coach and GM Blumes said “We began the night announcing our Captains and I think that had the boys feeling inspired. Along with that it was the first night our name bars were sewn onto the backs of our jerseys and we made the point that while we play for the crest on front not the name on the back, none of us are here without the love and support from that family name on the back.  Combine all of these elements along with a first game against Tahoe that left all of us wanting more and we had a very determined group this evening.”
