Anthony Sharp joins team as Massachusetts area scout
The USPHL Ontario Jr Reign is excited to announce the hiring of Anthony Sharp as their new Massachusetts area scout.
Originally born in Boston, Anthony grew up in the Edmonton/Calgary area, having played for Coach Jeremy Blumes Calgary Royals at the time. In his five seasons in Calgary, his team won provincials three times, finishing second in the city and third, respectively, the other years. Anthony's hard work ethic and passion for the game made him a welcomed addition to every team he played or coached.
Coach Blumes says “I’ve known Anthony for many years during my time coaching with the Calgary Royals. Anthony earned the reputation as one of the hardest working players within our association at the time. He was an excellent teammate and represented the organization well. I’m thrilled for him to utilize that same work ethic as he seeks players for our team next season.”
Anthony played junior hockey for the Antigonish Bulldogs while attending St. Francis Xavier University. Since then, Anthony graduated with a BBA in Marketing and a minor in Economics and currently works in Business Development in tech software sales at Reveneer in Boston, Massachusetts.
“Back home I was very involved in the hockey community," said Anthony. "Whether I was teaching skating, coaching, or advising, I continued to develop my hockey acumen, all while providing amazing opportunities to young athletes, giving them a path to pursue their passion. I'm excited to provide these opportunities to the fine young men from one of the strongest producing hockey states in America.”
Fun fact: Anthony coached current USPHL Ontario Jr Reign players Cole Kershaw & Aiden Szautner when they played Midgets.
