Sophia Mitchell promoted to the big leagues

Hockey, education, and life skills are the core values of the Ontario Jr. Reign.

Our organization is proud to support our players and staff as they pursue their passions.

A great example is Sophia Mitchell, who started with the Ontario Jr. Reign as part of last season's internship program. Through her hard work and dedication with OJR, Mitchell has recently been hired by OJR’s parent club as a sales representative for both the Los Angeles Kings and the Ontario Reign.

She found out about OJR through a job fair at the Toyota Arena while completing her third year at UC Riverside.

"This opportunity was a perfect blend of my love for hockey and my interest in marketing, making it an ideal fit," Mitchell described it.

Mitchell focused on digital and social media marketing, capturing photos at every home game and even traveling with the team to away games, not missing a single moment. She also assisted with social media, frequently posting to the OJR social media pages.  As she says that by maintaining a strong social media presence enforces the connection to the fans and the community.

She thanks OJR’s head coach and general manager Jeremy Blumes and the OJR staff  describing them as "invaluable," saying, "They provided me with insights into the sports industry, helped me build a network of connections, and offered wisdom that I carry with me in my current role."

At OJR Mitchell not only developed a deeper love for the game, but she also left with the necessary skills needed to pursue her career goals, as she's doing now.

"It was a transformative experience that shaped my professional path and confirmed my commitment to pursuing a career in the sports industry," said Mitchell.

As the Ontario Jr. Reign would like to congratulate Sophia on her achievements, we at OJR will continue to provide our players and staff with the foundation to pursue their passions as we uphold our core values of hockey, education, and life skills.
