Rick Roberts on transitioning from junior to college and professional levels

by Jr Reign

Rick Roberts, an educational advisor for the USPHL Ontario Junior A Reign, visited Ontario Center Ice Arena following practice to talk with our athletes about the process of transitioning from junior to college and professional levels.

Roberts has a lengthy history in the hockey community of Ontario, having worked as the general manager and director of player personnel for the previous iteration of the Reign, the Ontario Avalanche of the Western States Hockey League. During that time Roberts helped a number of players to professional levels along with helping more than 70 players placement in various institutions throughout the US and Canada. Head Coach and General Manager Jeremy Blumes commented “Rick is a great resource for our players, I believe that the success of our programs can best be determined by where our players are playing a few years down the road. Ultimately, it’s up to our players to determine where they play, however, our intention is to provide all the resources to help them in those efforts. We put together highlight videos, and player profiles and have Rick and me helping advocate and guide our players in their efforts to play at the next level.”
